Parents As Teachers |
||||||||||||||
Parents as Teachers provides a comprehensive parenting program which provides support to Alamance County families through home visits with a certified PAT educator. |

Child Care Resource and Referral |
||||||||||||||
Designed to help families find quality child care, this program includes referral to all types of child care, including after-school care, summer camps, nanny care, and pre-K programs. The main goal is to improve overall quality of care in local facilities by offering technical assistance. This program also offers a resource library available to parents and child care providers. |

Child Care Health Consultant |

The Child Care Health Consultant provides health education services for child care staff and children who are in licensed child care facilities in Alamance County. These services will include on-site technical assistance to child care facilities to assist them in improving their compliance in the areas of health, safety, and sanitation. |

Professional Development Support |
||||||||||||||
Smart Start funds purchase Early Childhood Education (ECE) textbooks which are available for loan through the lending library at Alamance Community College. In addition, a Professional Development Support Specialist provides services to child care providers in order to increase their education levels. |

Family Support Network Parent Liaison |
||||||||||||||
The Parent Liaison will work with families of children from birth to age five years who have special needs. This person will also assist families in locating resources in the community and information on their child's diagnosis. |

Lifespan Dual Subsidy |
||||||||||||||
Smart Start funds will partially support the cost of child care for at least ten children at Lifespan Circle School. Eligible children must be between six weeks and two years of age, have an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) in place, and the family must be eligible to receive Department of Social Services (DSS) Child Care Subsidy (eligibility determined by DSS). Lifespan Circle School is a five-star rated developmental day program that offers full-time, year-round inclusive care to children birth to age five. |
