| Melisa Madden is a Parent Liaison with Family Support Network of
Central Carolina. Melisa will be working closely with other
professionals in your community to help families find the information
and emotional support they need at the time of their child’s diagnosis.
Melisa is also the mother of two wonderful children. They both have
autism and other special needs. It is Alamance Partnership for
Children’s pleasure to be able to offer this assistance to our families
in the area. Here is a brief overview of the services we provide: • Parent-to-parent matching: a way to get connected with other local families whose children have similar needs & challenges. • Free, family-friendly information on specific diagnoses, local agencies and resources, parenting issues, and much more. • Referral to local agencies and service organizations. • Parent education & training on various topics, offered at no cost to families. • Support for families in, and graduates of the Incredible Years Programs. • Social & recreational events for the whole family. • A quarterly newsletter filled with news and events from FSNCC and many other local organizations. • All services are free & confidential If you have a child with special needs, you’ve probably discovered that the best support often comes from others who have “been there.” Please join us for a FREE parent support group just for Alamance County families. These are informal groups designed to give families a chance to share their stories, exchange advice, and make new friends. Incredible Years Support group meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday of each month from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Alamance Partnership for Children, 2322 River Road, Burlington, 27217.
