The NC Pre-Kindergarten Program (NC Pre-K) is a state funded program
that targets at-risk four year old children and is designed to provide
high quality educational experiences to prepare them for kindergarten. A

income OR if the child: • Has an Individualized Education Plan or a diagnosed health condition; • Uses English as a second language; • Has a developmental educational need; or • Comes from a military family. NC Pre-K services are provided at no cost to families and can be found in public schools, Head Start, and private child care classrooms. To apply, the child must be four years old on or before August 31, 2011.
